Interact 5.5: What’s new in the next release of our digital banking platform?

Introducing static content change without an enterprise CMS, an updated design for a flat aesthetic, and improvements in MI reports

Not long ago, we introduced some exciting new features in Interact 5.4. More new features and improvements are coming in the 5.5 release.

Content Management Utility (CMU) Editor

Our clients absolutely loved the Content Management Utility that we released last quarter, which allows ‘on the fly’ changes to static content in mobile app and web via an adaptor connected to the client’s CMS. However, not all organisations have an enterprise CMS implemented and so, in order to give these clients the benefit of a CMU, we released our CMU Editor this quarter.

CMU Editor was specifically designed for organisations that don’t have sophisticated content management requirements, and for whom the cost of an expensive enterprise CSM is not justifiable. Our CMU Editor allows basic editing of pre-defined static content, such as text strings, images, and PDF files, from within Interact Hub.

Updated Mobile App Design

We have updated our mobile apps with a flat design aesthetic and a simpler color palette. A flatter visual style that doesn’t include gradients, shadows, and other embellishments has become a general trend, and apps that adopt this approach feel crisper and allow users to focus on the task in hand rather than being distracted by unnecessary decoration. In addition, having fewer colors dramatically reduces the visual noise of the screen, keeping users from getting distracted.

Enhanced Management Information (MI) Reports

Our clients gave positive feedback to the recently released MI sub-system. This quarter, we made further improvements to the MI reports.

  • Application Report available: sales data is critical for most, if not, all organisations. The new Application Report shows how many online applications were made per product.
  • Better filters and unique number: we have introduced channel filters to those reports where they are applicable. Our clients can now view events on their selected channels (web, iOS app, Android app). In addition, we have added unique user numbers to the reports so that clients can calculate numbers (for example, average logins) per user per month.

Other improvements

  • Fund a savings/loan account with an external card: most banks don’t allow their customers to fund their savings or loan accounts with an external card in the way that they do for credit card accounts. But we can see how this feature will come in handy and so we are offering this convenience to our clients’ customers.
  • Future-dated payments & transfers: Interact users can now set up a payment or transfer to take place on a future date, as well as manage existing future-dated payments.
