The European Digital Financial Services Power 50… the results are imminent

Author: Grace Durie

Back in February we posed the question ‘Just who are the most important people in European digital financial services today?’ Well, we will soon be able to give you a long awaited answer!

After members of The Digital Banking Club and those subscribed to Retail Banker International, Cards International and Electronic Payments International provided us with their nominations throughout February, we set our panel of judges to work.

Over the course of the past month, between them, the judges from FIS, Intelligent Environments, Ovum, Timetric, V2 and Zapp have spent many hours combing through the almost 200 name long list to whittle it down to the 50 most innovative, influential and powerful people in the financial services industry.

This has been no easy task; the longlist our judges have to select their choices from comprises of some of the biggest, most innovative and well established names in the industry: with analyst houses such as Mapa and Celent, banks such as LaCaixa, Societe Generale, Barclays, Lloyds and Garanti, regulatory bodies such as The UK Payments Council and emerging financial services companies such as iZettle and Nutmeg.

Alongside the main list, the judges have also turned their attention to the rising stars list and have devoted some of their deliberation time to choosing just who are the up and coming names currently helping to reshape the industry as we know it.

So just how close are we to a final, decisive decision? Well as the judges cast their deciding votes we will be disclosing their confirmed list of names in the very near future…

All will be revealed in the April editions of Cards International, Electronic Payments International and in the special 700th edition of Retail Banker International.

Once published these will include a special 8 page spread with the photos and the biographies of all of our selected industry professionals. These will paint a clear and in-depth picture of everyone who makes up the Power 50…

How else will The Digital Banking Club keep everyone updated once the Power 50 has been announced? Keep an eye out for our press release, due on The Club’s site soon!

As the search draws to a close, I holding my breath in expectation of what promises to be a diverse and list of names that will span the length and breadth of the financial services industry. Not long to go now…
